Jacqueline Gebhardt-Burns, M.A., LPC earned her Master’s and Educational Specialist Degrees in Professional Counseling and Mental from Seton Hall University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience working with a diverse array of individuals and families.
Jackie’s clinical experience spans working with families, individuals and couples in the community agency setting and within the last 4+ years specializing with the terminally ill population and their support systems. Areas of specialty include stress management, medical illness, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, assertiveness and empowerment, and other behavioral concerns.
Jackie’s clinical style is derived from believing that the therapeutic partnership is paramount to making a difference in guiding an individual. Collaboration is key in supporting someone while they transform their lives. She is committed to evidence-based practice and has been trained in cognitive behavioral and motivational interviewing strategies. She also believes it is important to incorporate a person’s strengths in treatment and as such has integrated music, art, mindfulness and bibliotherapy in her practice when appropriate. Jackie assists individuals by helping them to move forward by providing a safe environment to voice emotions, create awareness and acceptance of problematic thoughts and/or behaviors and will work with clients to help them develop positive, more adaptable thoughts and behaviors for the future.
